I like to combine all different kinds of fibres because each has positive qualities. If I combine the fibres I show the positive attributes of all of them.
In fibre art, I use wool, silk, cotton, hemp, alpaca, bamboo, soy protein, sea cell, sugar cane and rayon in various combinations.
To achieve character, I rely on colour, different fibres and plainer weaves, rather than pattern weaving.
The process of creating is mesmerising. I get into my own zone and clocks disappear.
